Case Study: House Extension in Caversham
One of our more recent projects, this house extension in Caversham featured matching brickwork, extensive roofing alterations and all services from glazing to plumbing. The purpose of this extension project was not only to added value, but also allowed the client to re-work the interior design as well. Arnen’s house extension team have extensive experience in delivering high quality work in this area already. As such, Arnen’s expert advise was invaluable to the project management stage.
The client was involved every step of the way of the build, owing to our experience in project management, therefore the build was centred around the exacting requirements of the client and any revisions that were required were discussed well in advance. The overall outcome was a successfully completed extension, which brought in significantly more light to the house, while adding the overall value of the property.

Arnen was recently approached by an existing client who required an extension to be built onto their property. The house in question was to be rented out – however much of the ground floor was lacking in lighting and was somewhat cramped.
Working closely with the client, Arnen’s expertise in project management was paramount to the success of the project. The client’s needs were met with exacting detail, with several revisions included within the build. The overall outcome helped reduce the level of maintenance required by the landlord. Furthermore, the finalization of the project led to significantly more light entering the house through several new windows, greatly adding to the appeal of the property.

English Heritage Trust are to Survey all Grade II Listed Properties Across the UK
All of England’s Grade II listed buildings are to be surveyed by English Heritage for the first time.The body is calling for an “army of volunteers” to determine which of the 345,000 are at risk from neglect.The process is part of the body’s annual heritage risk survey but will take several years. More than 700 buildings were identified as needing attention during pilot programmes.Work has already begun on some structures, such as the medieval Holy Well in Helston in Cornwall. (more…)
